Jeuveau is a product by Evolus. It is an injectable neurotoxin that is purified using a patented technology called Hi-Pure™. Similar to BOTOX, it uses botulinum toxin type A to halt the motions of the underlying facial muscles, which cause dynamic wrinkles. These muscles contribute to the formation of frown lines as well as other deep facial creases and folds.
Jeuveau was developed by Evolus, and BOTOX is a product of Allergan. Unlike BOTOX, Jeuveau was designed as a cosmetic and was FDA-approved strictly for aesthetic purposes. The results with Jeuveau often appear several days earlier than with BOTOX. While one injectable may not necessarily be better than the other, one may better suit your specific cosmetic goals.
Good candidates for Jeuveau are currently healthy and interested in resolving the following concerns:
If you are interested in Jeuveau, the experienced aesthetic nurse at Savalia Plastic Surgery will ensure you are safe for this treatment. Jeuveau and other similar injectables are used on static wrinkles, caused by lifestyle and aging, and these products are only used to smooth wrinkles resulting from muscle movements.
The entire procedure will take less than 15 minutes. Nurse Leslie will cleanse the injection site and then use a numbing cream if you have concerns about pain. Using her expertise in facial anatomy, she will insert a fine needle into the targeted areas, and inject a small amount of Jeuveau. An experienced injector can preserve natural facial expressions and bring about an improvement in the appearance of glabellar lines. The final result will be visible within two to three days.
Similar to other injectables meant for dynamic wrinkles, Jeuveau is considered a lunchtime procedure. There is no downtime involved; you can return to your usual activities immediately. You may experience mild redness and swelling, which should dissipate in 30 minutes to an hour.
